Eighth Volkswagen Golf has lost three-door and electric versions

The long-awaited Volkswagen Golf eighth generation was presented today by the German carmaker Volkswagen in Wolfsburg. The eighth generation of the iconic hatchback has received a new exterior and interior, however, has lost three-door and electric versions.

The exterior of the new Golf is still very similar to its predecessor, so in fact still themselves body proportions, the shape of the side glass and signature curved-roof rack. Circle updated lighting, now fully converted to LEDs. With extra charge available and matrix optics.
About the size of the "eighth" Golf was 26 mm longer (4284 mm) and at 36 m below (1456 mm) is in the seventh, but kept the old width (1789 mm). The wheelbase is increased by 16 mm to 2636 mm.

However, the major changes occurred all the same on the interior. Most notably in this new digital 10.25-inch "combination" of devices and touch-screen display of the multimedia complex with a diagonal of 8.25 or 10 inches (depending on configuration), which is derived multimedia system, climate control and other functions comforthost. For a fee it is also proposed a projection display.

To the left of the helm is located a block dimmer switch (rotary switch removed) and the defroster, and sunroof now with a original touch slider on the ceiling. Optional package includes tri-zone automatic climate control and Harman Kardon premium acoustics.

Engine range from 8.0 Golf in Europe includes eight motors. So, the petrol range starts with a modified 1.0-liter TSI Turbotronic in iterations of 90 HP and 110 HP, as well as the same 1.5-liter turboservice TSI 130 and 150 HP with disable two cylinders at low loads. With them packaged (depending on equipment) 6-speed manual gearbox or 7-speed DSG.
Systemno provided "soft" hybrids eTSI 48-volt starter generator and a more compact lithium-ion battery and a range of engine power, respectively, 110, 130 and 150 HP, however, they are at first they will only be available on pre-order.

Conventional PHEV – eHybrid received in the base 1.4-liter 204-horsepower TSI turbo engine (on a charged Golf GTE – 245 HP) electric motor, the battery capacity of 13 kWh and a 6-speed double clutch RCP.
Gamma engine is extended by a new 2.0-liter turbodiesel TDI in iterations 115 HP or 150 HP Electric version of the e-Golf also a thing of the past as it is in the original range was replaced with the latest electric car VW ID.3.

The first markets for the Volkswagen Golf 8.0 in December will be Germany and Austria, and on the other, it will appear in 2020. New promise and Russia, but the timing is not called.
