Electric monster Rimac C_Two promised another speed records

The release of the second generation electric bullets will start in 2020

Until now the Rimac Concept_One, whose serial version was presented in 2013 and remained one of the fastest vehicles on the planet. A small Croatian company has managed the unthinkable: she suddenly walked brands from around the world. Now in Geneva, Mate RIMAC (Rimac Mate) introduced the second model — Rimac C_Two.

The front part of the electric hypercar retain visibility, although rear new coupe is reminiscent of some other manufacturers. Much work has been done on the interior. Designers increased the level of detail so that the study of the elements Rimac C_Two is not inferior to the performance from the older and well-known brands.

However, when someone says about Rimac, the matters of appearance are secondary. And if Concept_One and the more Concept_S stated some fantastic features (1 384 HP), the Rimac C_Two raises the degree of intensity on printsipialno new level. The impact of the new model increased to 1 914 horsepower and 2,300 N·m. And let's not forget that we are talking about four-wheel drive electric vehicle, which is able to reach peak value almost instantly.

In the end, Rimac C_Two able to accelerate 0 to 96 km/h (60 mph) for 1.85 seconds and the maximum speed is 412 km/h. This car is pointless to compare with production cars: still today no one is capable of anything like that. A similar dynamic must demonstrate the Tesla Roadster of the second generation, but it is still in development.

Rimac C_Two puts the record on the part of the battery: it applies a traction battery capacity of 120 kWh Reserve is estimated at 650 miles. Charging from 0 to 80 % can do it in 30 minutes if you use the station DC voltage of 250 kW.

Among other technical wonders for the car stated the system auto-pilot. Engineers installed eight cameras, two lidar, six radar and 12 ultrasonic sensors. They can only to provide adaptive cruise control and keep the car in its lane, but in the near future on Rimac C_Two it will be possible to install a full autopilot.

Against the backdrop of such exciting possibilities, the question arises about the commercial success of Rimac C_Two. The thing is that the first generation was released edition of just ten copies (eight Concept_One and only two Concept_S). But the manufacturer plans to sell 150 coupe C_Two. Assembly will begin in 2020.
