A version of the Renault Megane GT with a diesel engine dCi 165 and Auto EDC
New Renault Megane sports GT version was previously offered only with a 205-horsepower gasoline engine, but now the French have introduced a new version of Megane dCi 165 GT Auto EDC on heavy fuel. The latest diesel engine is available for both the hatchback and Sport Tourer wagon. The power plant is interesting because today on the market, no one competitor offers a similar 1.6-liter "diesel" with such impressive features – 165 HP and 380 nm.
The latest version of Megane GT engine with twin turbo was developed by engineers of Renault Sport and is particularly suited to drivers looking for a smooth pull from the "bottom". "To digest" considerable time designed 6-speed RCP Renault dual clutch EDC (Efficient Dual-Clutch).
Renault Megane GT dCi 165 Auto EDC accelerates to 100 km/h in 8,8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 200 km/h, while fuel consumption in the combined cycle according to representatives of the company, is only 4.6 l/100 km the same characteristics and shows the "universal" version of the Sport Tourer with a difference of one in ten during acceleration is 8.9 s to 100 km/h.
Renault Megane GT dCi 165 received polnopravnym chassis. The 4Control system monitors vehicle speed and turns rear wheels in the same or in the opposite direction as the front wheels. So, at a speed less than 75 km/h in Sport mode and less than 55 km/h in other modes, the rear wheels turn to an angle of 2.7° in a direction opposite to the rotation of the front wheels, thereby improving the maneuverability of the vehicle. At speeds exceeding the above, the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front, at an angle of 1°, preserving the stability of the vehicle. The 4Control system determines the relative location of the rear wheels, sending a signal up to 100 times per second – all to ensure that adjustments take place instantaneously.
In addition, to improve manageability and preserve the comfort of the Renault Sport division have worked on the characteristics of the springs, dampers and stabilizer bars.
The exterior "sport" version of the Renault Megane GT lives up to its name. The car has a slightly different front bumper with a wider lower air intake and honeycomb grille. Under the brand logo placed two coveted letters "GT". Megane GT's got 18-inch gray wheels with an exclusive design. Only for GT and GT Line are available special color – metallic blue.
The interior features front sports seats with side support and a stamping that says GT. On the client there are two types of finishes – fabric or Alcantara, while the steering wheel exclusively with leather. In addition, the Renault Megane dCi 165 GT feature chromed with lettering Renault Sport. Power they certainly did not add, but to stand out from the crowd will allow.
Renault Megane GT dCi 165 Auto EDC is built on the latest modular platform CMF Renault Nissan, because it includes all of the possible driver assistance system (ADAS). Already in the base version of the GT Nav system installed Visio (control trajectories in case of deviation from lanes, recognizing road signs, automatic switch on dipped beam), the stability control system (ESC), ABS with brake-force distribution, a system of care start downhill (HSA), adaptive cruise control (ACC) and the automatic headlamps and glass cleaner.
Renault Megane GT dCi 165 EDC Auto with a diesel engine added a modification to the 205-strong petrol unit in the model range Megane GT.
