BMW continues to expand lineup of crossovers: now the German company introduced the BMW X2. The car is made according to the recipe X4 and X6, i.e. the basis was taken car of on the step below (in this case it is X1) and on top of his cart drawn more lean body.

As older crossovers with even indices, the BMW X2 is also being touted as a Sports Activity Coupe. However, the novelty is even less reminiscent of a traditional coupe: there is no horizontal ledge on the trunk lid like on X4 and X6, and the rear window installed at the same angle as on the X1.

But to distinguish the new from younger brother still possible. Key metamorphosis raised the profile: now drip line more sharply rushes up, and the roof is set slightly lower. In their place appeared an additional BMW logos that should cause associations with the old sport models BMW 2000 CS and BMW 3.0 CSL.

According to the technique of the BMW X2 will also be as close as possible to the X1: both built on front-drive UKL architecture, previously developed for the MINI. Adjacent models even the same wheelbase — 2670 mm.

At the time of start of sales in Europe will be available in three versions: petrol sDrive20i (192 HP) and diesel xDrive20d (190 HP) and X2 xDrive25d (231 HP). The first will be equipped with 7-speed robotized transmission, the others will get 8-speed "automatic".

In Germany, the sDrive20i price BMW X2 will start from 39 € 200. Thus, the new product will be about 2 500 euros more expensive than similar versions of the BMW X1. Sales will begin in March next year. On the timing of arrival to Russia and cost while there is no official information.
