BMW and Intel announced that will soon release on public roads a fleet of vehicles with high degree of autonomy (that is, it will still not completely unmanned vehicles). About their intentions two of the world's giant of different fields declared in the framework of the "intelliscope" events "Innovation Campus", which was held in San Jose, California.

For "break-in" technology, BMW will provide 40 modified models 7-series that will go all over the roads of the USA. Obviously, to forty models, no one stop the further development of the system of Autonomous control will only gain momentum. In the project, in addition to BMW and Intel specialists Mobileye. There were allegations that these companies will increase the number of prototypes and expand testing, but in the future.

Important in the fact that cars are not unmanned, and in highly automated. This means that absolutely no driver to do such a vehicle is not can a here to perform any maneuvers not requires careful attention and human intelligence is always welcome. In other words – choose a route, press the button and wait for the final destination of the trip (yet?) not succeed.

If the iron has provided BMW, then Intel took the "brain" of the system, which in future can be implemented in all vehicles. The sensors surveillance system meets the firm Mobileye, recently acquired by Intel.

The us-German initiative to wish success, as the competition on unmanned field is expected incredible. Take, for NVIDIA, which is currently engaged in the development and manufacture of chips for integration unmanned vehicles. To the way, NVIDIA sells a Tesla processor, which is already testing the cars with the feature of autonomy.
