BMW 6 series has become a luxury hatchback

Bavarians told all about the new models – the BMW 6 Series GT, but personally, the novelty will present in Frankfurt am main

The Germans have published information about the new model with a long name BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo with factory index G32. It just so happened that the guys from BMW on its own "read" Gran Turismo, because we see not just a vehicle for tourism, but also for bathing in luxury. Model series GT 6-series flagship, and unlike other "sixes" (coupe, sedan and convertible), the new model created on the basis of aggregate of the latest modular platform CLAR, as well as the new "five" with "seven". Some dimensions which are: 5091х1902х1538 mm wheelbase 3070 mm. the Proportions are chosen so that the car seems to be very dynamic, and the back is not overloaded, as in "five" GT (by the way, its a novelty and will replace, despite the different indices).

Exterior the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo made in the corporate style of the brand last generations. Wide bumper with massive air intakes and huge signature grille resting with her headlamps. The latter is decorated with broken "angel eyes" and led optics. 

On the sides of the car, right behind the front wheel, one can see the "gills" vent, and they are so fit harmoniously into the design, without them it would be boring. And of course, the "gills" is the calling card of Gran Turismo. Feed does not particularly stands out – all in the style of the latest BMW. 

The highlight of the design of the rear part rises automatically depending on the speed of the spoiler over the rear window of the car.

BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo is equipped with an adaptive head optics, through which the driver does not need to keep track of the time switching of lighting and switching from upper to lower. In addition, if the full-led headlights, the BMW Selective Beam function, which "knows" how to selectively darken areas of the light beam at a distance of 500 m so as not to blind the oncoming driver moving. 

Rear L-shaped lights, narrowed towards the center of the body, give the car's sportiness and dynamism, without losing in efficiency.

Engineers carefully crafted the aerodynamics of the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo – each element of the body "works", there is no decorative details. In order to improve the already good performance of the aerodynamic resistance, the Bavarians resorted to little tricks – mounted flaps in the grille that only open when required by the cooling system of the internal combustion engine, reduced turbulence around the front wheels, directing the flow of air through the front bumper to the exhaust vent behind the wheel and installed the previously mentioned retractable spoiler at the stern. Thanks to all these modifications, the drag coefficient was reduced to 0,25.

Auto body of the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo there are two usual colors, and ten metallic. 17-inch alloy wheels are offered as standard equipment. For extra charge you can order wheels with a diameter up to 20 inches. As alternatives to the standard trim levels BMW offers three special version of the 6 Series Gran Turismo Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport Package, which, among other things, is standard equipped with 19-inch wheels, a leather interior with exclusive stitching and a led foot pegs. Each package has its own characteristics on the finish. In the photos, the white car with the M Sport package Package, but the "cherry metallic" is the Luxury Line.

The interior of the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo is a set of positive qualities, which at first glance can not coexist. Great fit in the newly developed sports seats are combined with different variants of transformation salon, like the family mini-van. Interior standard leather trim Dakota, which color may be different depending on version. Surcharge available finish Nappa leather in various color combinations. In addition, it is possible to order the dashboard with a Sensatec finish in colors Black and Coffee.

Standard in the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo comes with steering wheel leather-trimmed with buttons of remote control vehicle systems and multimedia. If the vehicle is equipped with an 8-speed automatic transmission Steptronic Sport under the steering wheel will be located in the petals of a manual gear change.

The first line of the list is the 2.0-liter gasoline engine capacity of 258 HP and 400 ΜM N∙m, which is available in a range 1550-4400 min^-1. The model with this unit is referred to as the 630i. If at the stern of the car you will see GT or BMW 640i BMW 640i xDrive GT, so under the hood the car has a 3.0-litre R6 with a power of 340 HP and 450 ΜM N∙m. With this engine the car "shoots" up to 100 km/h in 5.3 seconds (if xDrive). Closes the list diesel engine model 630d with 3.0 liter that develops 265 HP and 620 (!) Nm.

Regardless of engine, BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo will be equipped with 8-speed automatic transmission Steptronic with improved intelligent shift system. Coupled with the navigation system Professional transmission will monitor the traffic situation, based on the data, and to adjust it for my work.

The chassis of the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo does not have anything outstanding in the front double wishbones, rear mnogoryichazhka with a sound elastokinematic. In General, the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo turned out to be so advanced as possible today – it is not just a vehicle but a whole world on wheels. The official premiere of the car is scheduled for autumn in Frankfurt, declared value in Germany – from 63 thousand euros. The timing of the start of sales of the BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo in Russia is still unknown, but on the official Russian website of BMW, the novelty has already appeared.
