In Geneva Hyundai will bring the new generation i30 Tourer estate car
Model i30 was originally designed in Europe for Europe – where else but in the heart of Europe, in neutral Switzerland, to introduce a new generation. In this case we are talking about the third (already!) the generation of the model and the station wagon – the i30 hatchback, presented in September 2016 in Paris, has just arrived in the European dealerships.
In addition to external changes (design with a characteristic "trapezoidal" grille traditional for i-line Hyundai has been created by the European design center in Frankfurt-on-main) creators carefully optimized and body structure – due to the increased to 53% the proportion of super alloys has been significantly improved body rigidity while reducing curb weight of the car. The wheelbase has not changed (2650 mm), which indicates a serious revision of the old platform (and not the creation of a new clean sheet), but the trunk has grown significantly – as much to 602 l (!) vs 528 l in the second generation, while outwardly i30 Tourer began to look even more dynamic than its predecessor. The maximum volume is 1650 L.
While announced only gamma engine with direct injection for Europe (on our market until the silence, although in the presence of a base localization in the face of the Kaliningrad "Avtotor" new "Tourer" with a proven 1.6-litre motor from the current generation in Russia will appear) is downsizing 3-cylinder "turbomail" volume 1.0 l (120 HP), the Quartet with a 1.4 l naturally aspirated (140 HP) and the turbodiesel 1.6 l CRDi (110 HP). Powertrain as its predecessor – or 6-speed "mechanics" or 7-step "robot" DCT dual-clutch.
Not disappoint i30 Tourer (in fact, as the hatchback) and electronic parts – there are the modern media system with a screen up to seven inches, and integration with smartphones, and the system of the retaining strip and the control of the blind zones (it is now a European "Era-GLONASS", is mandatory for all), and adaptive cruise control, panoramic glass roof, separate climate control, and no led headlights in Europe, too, but I can't. In short, a serious argument of Koreans to conquer the European market (incidentally, we almost conquered, IMHO).☺
