Rising prices for bestsellers – the calm before the storm?

In the first seven months, the index RC cars-bestsellers rose by 3.4 p. p.

According RAMR in the first seven months of 2018 recommended retail prices (RRP) for passenger cars in the Russian market rose on average by 2.6 percentage points. However, the Russians are willing to pay for a new car a lot of Summy.



Consequently, prices of the Top 10 bestsellers of the market, i.e. the most popular models of passenger cars in the period under review exceeded this target by 0.8 p. p.

Prestige – the new top version of sedan LADA Vesta

A leader in the growth of RRTS for January-July of 2018, among the Top 10 models became Lada Vesta. The growth of prices for this model amounted to 14.6%, which is explained by the beginning of large-scale production of more expensive station wagon SW version SW Cross, as well as the development of more expensive versions of the sedan – Sport and Cross.

Also significantly increased in price crossover Renault Duster, which is 6.2%.

LADA LARGUS showed a slight decrease in RRP on the eve of the debut of the restyled series (premiere MIAS 2018)   

In the Top-10 was cheaper, so the model Lada Largus, Kia Sportage and showed a decrease in prices, respectively, 0.8% and 0.3%.

Given that the series of LADA Granta in the second half of the year, after going through a facelift, will also include former series of Kalina 2 in the series Vesta will increase the proportion of more expensive new versions, and series Largus 4x4 and also undergo modernisation – all it inevitably will rise as the RRC directly to the LADA brand, and the General level of prices in the market and, primarily in the budget segment.

Restyled LADA Granta (premiere at MIAS-2018) will undoubtedly contribute to the increase of RRTS in the second half   

Beginning in August because of a new package of anti-Russian sanctions once the collapse of the ruble may not be so impressive (for today ₽ lost to already $ 8%), and due to some inertia with the rewriting of prices dealers, the jump in prices in the second half will be less acute than is seen in the background of another "black Swan" in the Russian economy.
