The Russian market of passenger cars and LCV in April continued to decline

New car sales decreased in April by 2.7%

In April, the market of passenger cars and LCVs in Russia decreased by 2.7% to 148 296 units.

Chairman of the AEB automobile manufacturers Committee Joerg Schreiber commented: "In April the sale again was not at the pace that would allow to achieve high results of the last season. It is clear that the market is not in the form that we saw just 12 months ago, when the market has demonstrated consistent double-digit growth."
In January-April the market has fallen by exactly one percent to 539 946 units.

Among the Top 10 brands in April in terms of sales is LADA with 32 316 units (+5%), and the best result at Skoda with +16% (7359 units). On the contrary, Ford has fallen by 23% to 3752 units In the Top 10 sales growth of 7 brands, and fell in three.

Outside the Top 10 all grew more Hyundai brand commercial vehicles – 18.8% to 94 units, as well as Geely 3.6% to 786 units and Haval – 2.9% to 603 units.

The group share of the AVTOVAZ-Renault-Nissan (includes Datsun and Infiniti brands) on the market in April was 33% and for four months is 34.2%.

The top selling models in April was a series of LADA Granta with 12 652 units (+69,9%). She is the leader and for 4 months from 41 278 units (+47,4%).

Second place for April and 4 months firmly took the LADA Vesta 10 131 units (+30.1 per cent) and 38 019 units (+18,4%).
