In February, the Russian market of passenger cars and LCVs for the first time in a long period of continuous growth showed a negative trend by 3.6% to 128 406 units In the two months since the beginning of the year, a decline of 1.8% to 231 470 units.
Chairman of automobile manufacturers Committee AEB, Mr. Joerg Schreiber commented on the results of February Russian car market: "for the First time in nearly 2 years of sales in February showed that although small, but the decrease compared to the previous year. Consumer confidence has been declining for several months, so the transition to negative values is not wholly unexpected. The key question is in which direction the market will go in the next few months: back to stability and growth or in the opposite direction. Currently the prospect looks too encouraging. Including because of the recently announced government measures to support car sales, for example for young families, too limited in capacity to make fundamental changes."
