Market new light commercial vehicles and pickups in may fell by 22%

According RAMR in may 2019 sales of new light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and pickups dropped by 21.9% compared to may 2018, amounting to only 7,85 thousand For the first five months of 2019, the market of new LCV and pickups made up of 43.47 million, which is 9.7% less than in the same period of 2018.

While sales of pickups and malotonnazhnogo domestic production for January-may 2019 fell to 30 thousand, but remained in the lead, since selling cars has dropped to almost 13 thousand cars.

In January-may 2019 the leader of the market of new LCV – GAS, sold 18.4 thousand of light commercial vehicles (-7,2%). Second place, behind Russian brand UAZ which sales in the period decreased by 3.6% to 8,25 thousand of the Best of foreign brands is traditionally a Ford with the implementation of 4.34 thousand LCV (+9%), which secured him third place in the market. Domestic LADA is only at the 4th place with 3015 thousand and a decline of 9.7%. Fifth place was secured the Volkswagen commercial vehicles (by the way, is present in the segment of pickups) with 2.7 million, albeit with a reduced sales by 2.5%.

Besides Ford still only two brands showed positive dynamics of sales: Toyota (Hilux pickup) and Renault (van Dokker). The greatest fall in sales showed the brand Mercedes-Benz – by 58.8% to 1.12 thousand due to the collapse of the Assembly LCV model Sprinter Classic.
