Japanese companies continue to outperform competitors
Car reliability — a thing ephemeral. It is impossible to feel, even more difficult to compare different models and brands. Each motorist'm pretty sure certain brands rarely break, while others will make the owner literally live in the garage. On the subject broken a lot of copies, but neither one of the points of view cannot be considered completely objective. Different ratings only sprayed spores. Fresh study of the American Agency J. D. Power and Associates will also become the fertile ground of disputes.
As before, the reliability rating was compiled on the basis of a survey of owners of three-year vehicles. In total were collected the views of 36 896 motorists. The main measure is the average number of breakdowns per 100 vehicles.
The sensation did not happen: for the seventh consecutive year the leader of the rating J. D. Power U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study Lexus remains. It is noteworthy that the cars of this brand took first place in four segments. With a minimum margin (100 damage vs 99) in second place was the Porsche company. Bronze suddenly got American brand Buick.
But Toyota occupies the ninth place. And although it showcases the figure better than average (127 faults per 100 cars), it was ahead of Infiniti, Kia, Chevrolet, Hyundai and BMW.
According to experts, for the first time in the last five years the number of complaints about motorists decreased, the average fell to 142 problems per 100 vehicles, which is 9% less than last year's result. Does this mean that cars have become more reliable? It is hardly possible to give an objective answer on this question, because the rating is based on the subjective impressions of owners who can make mistakes. But a positive trend can not but rejoice.
Among other trends in the J. D. Power noted the narrowing of the gap between premium and mass producers. Most often, the owners of three cars (they were interviewed) complained about problems with the audio system and other additional electronics. Many claims were made regarding touch screens, navigation systems, recognition systems for voice commands and Bluetooth.
Worst of all showed himself to be a Chrysler, Land Rover, Fiat, Jeep and Cadillac. If you believe the poll, they broke down on average twice as often than the leaders of the rating.
