The tale of how the Czech Republic became to buy from Russia their cars
Since the devaluation of the ruble in 2014 the car market not only significantly decreased, but changed. Significantly reduced the import of new machines: in the first half of the year only 13% of cars were imported from abroad. Along with this there is a reverse trend in the export. According to the report of the analytical Agency "AUTOSTAT", for 11 months of 2017 shipments abroad jumped 35 % to 36 950 cars. It should be remembered that in the statistics is not taken into account export to the countries of the Customs Union (Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan).
The distribution of demand across countries is difficult to predict, unless you know the background of supply: first place with a share of 42.3 % in total exports went to the Czech Republic. This fact may be surprising, because this country produces Skoda, which is already one of Europe's most popular brands. However, it is the "Skoda" Russia and supplies to their historical homeland.
How can this be? The fact is that the Skoda Yeti is no longer available in the Czech Republic (there were preparing the site for the production of Skoda Karoq), but it is still doing at the plant in Nizhny Novgorod. Accordingly, recently, purchased in the Czech Republic are the Russian Yeti. In total deliveries exceeded 15 thousand cars. Here's a fun re-export.
In General, the first five countries of Russian exports of passenger cars in 2017, as follows: Czech Republic (42,3 %), Ukraine (9.3 per cent), Latvia (8.8 per cent), UAE (8.1 per cent) and Hungary (3.7 percent). If to speak about the distribution of demand by brands, the first place for reasons already voiced went "Skoda": it accounted for 42.4 per cent of total supply. Followed by Lada (25.3 per cent), Renault (9.2 percent), Hyundai (5.2 %) and Volkswagen (up 4.9 %).
The growth of car exports, and even such an accelerated pace — always good news. Even abroad come foreign cars, but because they are produced in Russia, which means a full load conveyor, providing jobs, tax revenues and so on. However, significant cause for optimism it is not observed soon sales of the Skoda Yeti will end, and this means that the export may fall.
