Over the past week (from 21 to 27 may) gasoline at the Moscow gas stations has risen just 88-90 cents. Now grade AI-92 is an average 42,21 ruble, AI-95 — 45.5 ruble. Such data are cited by the Moscow fuel Association. Similar data share analysts Thomson Reuters Kortes: the national average fuel price 76-79 cents, up from 40.76 and 43.6 per ruble respectively.

Continue to grow and wholesale prices last week the price of AI-92 has increased to 55,95 thousand rubles for ton, AI-95 — to 56.7 thousand rubles per ton. Recorded growth of 3 %.

But what about the reduction in excise duties?

The theme of rising in price of fuel has become one of the most discussed in the Russian society. Recently, the government even announced unprecedented measures: for the first time in recent years, they decided reduce excise duties on fuel. Why this measure led to the opposite result?

First, the excise tax decrease only from 1 July. Second, many experts claim that even reducing the tax burden on industry will not lead to lower prices. In the best case we should expect only a stabilization of prices.

Why there was another price hike?

According to the report "Analysts commodity markets", diesel once again rose due to the fact that suppliers of petroleum products resulted in relatively cheap stocks, formed several months ago.

In General, the representatives of the government and analysis companies referred to the same causes: that the prices in the retail market has not yet caught up with wholesale rates, so that regardless of the measures taken ahead of us are waiting for even higher prices.

As stated earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, the government's forecasts say that by the end of the year, the increase in fuel prices may exceed 30 %. Based on this information and taken the decision to reduce excise duties.
