Volvo XC40 has become car of the year in Europe

Compact crossover ahead of its competitors from Audi, BMW and Seat

The annual finalists of the European competition Car of the Year were selected in November 2017. In shorts-sheet have got the Stelvio Alfa Romeo, Audi A8, BMW 5 Series, Citroen C3 Aircross, Kia Stinger, Seat Ibiza and Volvo XC40. Each applicant for its own good, so the struggle was intense. But the best was the Volvo XC40.

XC40 is the most compact crossover of the company. This is the first model of the Swedish brand developed jointly with Geely. In the heart of the model is the modular platform CMA.

At the moment, announced the petrol version of T3 (156 HP) and T4 (190 HP) and diesel D3 (150 HP), D4 (190 HP) and D5 (247 HP). Buyers can choose between a six-speed "mechanics" and vosmichastny "automatic". The drive can be front or full. Soon is expected to release a hybrid version based on T3, and then appear and all-electric modification Volvo XC40.

Included in the jury of 60 experts from 23 countries (including Russia) issued to the Swedish crossover 325 points. With a substantial lead on second place was the hatch Seat Ibiza (242 points). Closes the top three BMW 5 Series (226 points).
