The deputies made for the second secoproject in this area
Despite the fact that in the first days of August, gasoline in Russia is slightly fell, (at least that according to data of the analytical Agency Thomson Reuters Kortes), the topic of fuel prices remains one of the most exciting ones. Now the Duma will consider the idea of state regulation of gasoline prices. The bill was brought by deputies from the Communist party.
Deputy Valery Rashkin and Dmitry Parfenov has proposed to introduce from 1 January 2019 the state regulation of prices for gasoline of all types and diesel fuel. The marginal cost on the retail market will be set by the government. It is expected that this measure to save consumers from price shocks.
A month ago, a group of state Duma deputies headed by Sergey Mironov has made another proposal — to limit the rise in fuel prices, the level of official inflation in Russia. It is expected that the State Duma will consider the bill in November.
However, despite the emergence of initiatives designed to insure motorists from the sharp rise in fuel prices, to rejoice too early: similar bills with a pronounced populist mindset are made to the Duma not so rare. However, they are rarely accepted. In addition, even if approved, the benefits of these laws will depend largely on their wording. For example, the government can put such high restrictions that market prices will not even be able to reach them.
