Buying a car on the secondary market always involves risk. There are cases when the new owner later discovers that his "baby" was in a serious accident. No more enviable fate awaits it, if the vehicle is stolen, and the number plate was "broken". So the mileage — even a mild case. Perhaps to simplify the search for good option will be a new initiative of the Association "Russian automobile dealers" (ROAD). In conjunction with the service of free announcements Avito she plans to create a unified automotive database. The first details of this interesting idea was shared by the newspaper "Vedomosti".

The new service will operate on the platform Autoteka.ru that is working under the wing of Avito. Under the deal, 80% of the service will be in the hands of Avito, another 20% will go to ROAD. The financial side of the agreement were not disclosed.

It is expected that the database will contain information about 42 million cars. It turns out that the service can find out more about any machine on the territory of the Russian Federation. The role of partners in the new system will be distributed in the following way. The ROAD will take care of the interaction with public authorities, regulators, manufacturers, and dealers. Avito will continue to improve the site Autoteka.ru.

At the moment the full report on the car provided by the service Autoteka.ru VIN-code is 99 rubles. It contains information about the restrictions on the registration steps, information about the location wanted and in the pledge, about the accident, register, pass inspection, the number of owners, taxi use, and so on. The representative of Avito, said that vehicle check on such a database significantly reduces the risk of buying cars with hidden problems.

However, in practice, is not so smooth. Data on the year of issue and the number of owners really are specified right, but their is no problem to check and PTAs (problems can arise only with fake documents). At the same time, information about the PTA, repairs, and maintenance, even if they were made from an authorized dealer, in many instances, yet is completely absent. Information on compulsory tech inspection was added relatively recently. In some cases, these seemingly formal data may facilitate the finding of the "white" car, because you can see not only the date of passage, but also the mileage at that time. In some cases, this will weed out the options with obviously twisted mileage.
