In Sokolniki opened a Museum of cars brands ZIS and ZIL from the collection of spezzia No. 6

Now to see what went on the rulers of our country, from Stalin to Yeltsin, was not easy, but very simple.

In Sokolniki (to the left of the entrance to the exhibition) has opened a new automobile Museum. More precisely, a relatively new and a direct descendant destroyed the year before the factory Museum ZIL. Continue to operate as an LLC "МСЦ6 was AMOSIL" manufacturing passenger trucks, now more as a restoration workshop and the world service of the automobile models of this brand, patronized the new Museum and provided most of the exhibits.

In another part of the room (and in a different historical period) – the only survivor experienced ZIL-4202 firmly associated in the memory with his wife last General Secretary Raisa Maximovna Gorbacheva directly named on the stand "Raisa". Interestingly, the earlier ZIL from 114th to 41047-th model, including favorite dear Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev "driverse" shortened sedan ZIL-117, and look great right now, but this "reorganization" of the model now looks like a complete anachronism, because the global design Executive cars have gone another way. That does not reduce (rather the opposite) value of ZIL-4202 as exhibit.

In contrast with the polished sides and velvet upholstery and limousines and convertibles exposure, it is appropriate to complement amphibious "Blue bird" for search and rescue landed astronauts and utterly humble factory "electric vehicle".

Near unique (last out made) elegant VIP buses "Youth" is perched unexpected piece – funny blue car with the right wheel Honda 360 from the 1960s. He was presented to the Chief engineer of Zila and for many years was used as internal transport (rate is not so much the size of the baby, then how many factory shops).

The first limo of the plant named after Stalin – ZIS-101 in a later modification of the pre-war ZIS-101A the Majority of cars, of course, were black.

The exposition opens on the right of the firstborn ZIS-101, painted in "atypical" for the production model white color. The characteristic radiator grille "hump" is a late prewar version 101A (early models radiator grille was in the form of a heraldic shield is visible at the booth in the background). By the way, stands in the Museum is extremely informative and full of rare photos and even experienced a rare and special versions of the basic models.

Each of the models is very appropriate complement models dressed in the gowns that are appropriate for the era, when it was released in each car. In General, the "Museum of limousines" left a feeling of some inner warmth, a sense that it is created by people genuinely concerned for the preservation of domestic automotive history. Also very pleased with the knowledge that the unique car has received a civilized shelter and now they are not threatened by the fate of being sawn (literally and figuratively) for scrap.

That would have the same pleasant fate befell the cargo part of the exhibition ZIL, but we were told that the trucks of today "do not format". Well, there is hope for a better future.
