In Russia there is a vehicle tax, which not only depends on the power, but also increases on a progressive scale. This means that, for budget machines with motors up to 100 horsepower one "horse" will cost 2.5 rubles, while for the more expensive cars with more than 250 returns per force would have to pay 15 rubles (plus, the regions can apply increment or decrement to the coefficients). But if low-cost cars in the country more then any of the models ultimately comes more taxes?

According to the Federal tax service (FNS), beginning in 2017, there were 38 million passenger cars, an average of one for every third adult citizen. Half of the fleet we have cars with power up to 100 horsepower. However, over the last four years significantly increased the number of cars whose capacity varies from 100 to 150 forces: their share rose from 30% to 40% (14 million cars).

Thus, in total a capacity of up to 150 horsepower accounted for 87 % of the total fleet. They bring only 45 % of receipts of the transport tax, or 46 billion rubles.

Thus, the remaining 55 % of revenues, or 56 billion comes from owners of cars capacity over 150 forces, although their share does not exceed 13 % (currently registered 5.1 million such vehicles).
