We test the pickup with an Italian face and a real samurai heart

Our editors took it for a test drive the pickup truck Fiat Fullback, made a splash last year a lot of noise, literally bursting on the Russian (not too much, however, broad) market for pickup trucks sport utility.
So far, we rode Italian-Japanese (since it is based on a well-known pick-up Mitsubishi L200 previous generation) in the capital. And here are our first impressions – of course, pick – up the car pretty high, but Fullback is quite friendly to the driver and passengers (at least in the front seat) and allows you to feel completely confident and when you need to maneuver in crowded cars the yards, and when you have to Wade through the maze of alleyways such as old Zamoskvorechye.
Our instance features an optional lifting cover and protective arcs from the company Mopar. I must say that if you are hauling every day in the open back of the ATV or snowmobile (or where carcasses produced in hunting animals), then a lockable cargo compartment just the barest necessity, and even cover to choose, or a full-length kung to decide the future of the buyer from the point of view of his specific needs and wishes.
In my opinion the Mopar cover with a corrugated metal panel still heavy, however, its advantages have it, for example, it is possible to make a podium for viewing the races or hunting ambush.
Vibration from a 2.4-liter 150-horsepower turbodiesel is quite noticeable at idle (the steering wheel visibly vibrates), but the engine acceleration is simply amazing (turbojam generally imperceptible, unlike, for example, the previous diesel version of UAZ Pickup, where it resembled the Grand canyon), and even the rate of acceleration can be easily spur gearshift paddles (like F1), which is especially impressive when accelerating in traffic on the rise – very convenient and friendly towards the driver. Suspension, of course, typically pichowsky, i.e. very energy intensive, but quite hard especially in the rear, where the use of traditional springs. But the manhole covers and tram tracks and, in General, all road roughnesses of the Moscow roads to it as to the elephant a pellet. In this way the truck holds is quite sure (including the rugged bends auska embankments).
Comfort in the cockpit and on noise and microclimate are on par with conventional SUVs. Also well and driver seat electric adjustment and the steering column is adjustable in height and reach, so a perfect fit will be able to set the drivers with any length arms and legs.
But it is a pity that PDC (no rear, no front) in this configuration there is no (hood line and the feed is relatively high), although there is a colour rear view camera (no dynamic adjustment), but maneuvering it very well and helps.
To replace used in L200/Fullback current 5-step "automatic" (on the redesigned generation L200) is latest 6-speed automatic transmission, but the present unit there are no complaints as for speed of shifting and the smoothness and ease-of-use manual mode (thanks to podrulevym petals). However, we have yet to try the pickup on the Karelian isthmus, where we are going, the road turning to PMAS-2019.
