Medvedev finally signed a decree to curb fuel prices

The oilers will be able to raise prices only in 2019

Dmitry Medvedev signed a government resolution that will record fuel prices. Rather, the agreement itself talks about a few more complex things: it obliges the Ministry of energy and the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) to enter into agreements with oil companies, which would stabilize the retail prices at filling stations.

according To the resolution of the largest oil and gas companies: "Gazprom Neft", "LUKOIL", "Rosneft", "Surgutneftegas" and others. The document came into force since the signing.

If government or personally Dmitry Medvedev will notice that prices at the gas station will once again grow, then Russia will be introduced prohibitive export duties on crude oil, which hurt the wallet oil giants. the October 31 meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak had reached an agreement under which the sellers of fuel must reduce prices to the may level (then gasoline, the national average cost 42,3 rubles per liter, diesel by 43.91 rubles) and to save them until the end of 2018.

the Agreement will extend to 2019, but the question of a complete freezing of prices is not: the oilers will be able to raise the price of fuel, but only within the official inflation rate. Also from 1 January 2019 to be allowed to raise prices by 1.7% due to the increase in VAT from 18% to 20%.
