Intel decided that it was time to expand the scope of its activities and chose a new for yourself in the direction of the car. Or rather, not just cars, and active safety systems that help the driver to cope in unusual situations. It just so happens that the biggest player on the market of such systems-assistants is a company Mobileye. Its and Intel acquired $14.7 billion

Why this direction? Because it is the most promising. Now in full swing developing systems for Autonomous piloted vehicles-drones. And development of different systems that "see" and"assess" the situation on the road and control the car's behavior on the road, there is nothing like an intermediate step to the creation of a fully independent car. For example, consider the active cruise control that brakes the car itself, or the active steering system in the event of a Congress with its lanes, Parking aid, who himself is controlled with the steering when Parking.

Your purchase of the Intel in one fell swoop turned into a direct competitor to firms Nvidia Corp.  Qualcomm Inc., also working on the development of unmanned systems and components for global automakers. So extraordinary the manufacturer of processors for PC has entered into the automobile club.

By the way, the choice was not accidental or rash, the numbers prove it: according to the forecasts Goldman Sachs, the market for advanced driver assistance systems and advanced development of unmanned vehicles will be very actively to grow at approximately $3 billion 2015 and $96 billion in 2025 and$290 billion (!) in 2035.

Before that, Intel will not has been any significant player on this market, though, and has invested at least five different startups, funds for running projects of component manufacturing systems, unmanned control. But the electronics giant, according to all this state of Affairs has ceased to hold, and he decided on serious investment.

Together with Mobileye, the Corporation acquires a broad portfolio of proposals for the market support systems, which includes cameras, sensors, automotive, data network, cloud services and much more, and much more.

Intel CEO Brian Krzanich said that the acquisition was akin to a merger of the "eye of an unmanned vehicle with the brain, which actually controls the vehicle".

At Mobileye, founded in 1999, accounted for 70% of the world market responsible for anti-collision. In it employs 660 people, and adjusted net profit for last year amounted to $173.3 million
