And less — Jaguar
How often do people drive on the same machine? Someone changes car almost every quarter, while others sometimes don't change popular models decades. A portion of the interesting stats collected in the analytical Agency "AUTOSTAT": experts conducted a study of the terms of car ownership, which changed hands in 2017.
The average motorist uses one of the machines 57 months (or 4 years and 9 months). Do not confuse this parameter with the average age of vehicle we are talking about time of possession, and the car can be new and 30-year-old.
It is noteworthy that the cars of mass brands holding in one hand a little longer (58 months or 4 years and 10 months) than cars of premium brands (46 months or 3 years and 10 months). Most likely, this difference is due to the financial capacity: the wealthy man, the more he can afford to change cars (though it operates normally, not always).
The longest in one hand hold machine Suzuki (69 months). Almost the same accounts for Peugeot (67 months), Ford (65 months) and Chevrolet (64 months). The minimum period of ownership of the registered brands Lifan (47 months), Kia (49 months) and Geely (49 months).
Among cars of premium-segment leader Volvo: Swedish cars are owned on average for 59 months (or 4 years 11 months). But if the Volvo brand usually symbolizes family values (safety, comfort, calm design and conservative perceptions) to explain the second place Land Rover vehicles (50 months) is not so easy.
Most often change Mercedes-Benz (40 months), Porsche (40 months) and Jaguar (39 months).
