Make diesel great again
Recently diesel cars find in disgrace: their popularity is decreasing against the background of the environmental scandal, which hit the Volkswagen. But the Bosch engineers are confident that they managed to develop a revolutionary technology that will allow to make a breakthrough in the industry.
The Bosch has managed to achieve a significant reduction in the emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx). With them is associated the "deselect": Volkswagen engineers have used a special algorithm that tricked the computer during the tests for harmful substances in the exhaust. In some situations, the maximum permissible dose is exceeded tenfold!
Prevailing at the moment in the EU regulations of emissions of nitrogen oxides shall not exceed 168 grams per kilometer. But two years later, in 2020, will operate the new standard, according to which the maximum allowable NOx will be reduced to 120 mg/km, i.e. almost half. Many car companies fear that this will put an end not diesel cars, because existing technology will be extremely difficult to keep within the legally stipulated framework.
However, the new invention of the Bosch can significantly, in the literal sense of words in order to reduce the toxicity of the engines running on diesel. As a test vehicle chosen was unremarkable station wagon Volkswagen Golf TDI rated at 150 horsepower: Europe riding hundreds of thousands of these machines. With the new technology it produces just 13 grams of NOx per kilometer in the mixed cycle.
It is noteworthy that the unusual Volkswagen Golf TDI fails to meet future requirements for exhaust in all conditions: even with sharp taps on the gas pedal the mass of generated gases do not exceed 40 mg/km.
Bosch has already demonstrated the new system, some European publications. However, the developers are still not talking about how they managed to make such a tremendous breakthrough. Supposedly the secret lies in the combination of complex injection technology, a newly developed air system and intelligent temperature control. But the details were not disclosed. But we already know that the revolutionary technology works at any ambient temperature and any pace of movement.
a "This is the future of diesel technology. In the near future, emissions will not be a problem for this sector. Diesel engines in the future will be integrated into mobility solutions" — said the Bosch CEO Dr. Volkmar Denner (Volkmar Denner).
It is not surprising that Bosch intends to make a technological revolution. First, this company has introduced many innovations that are now generally accepted (at least what is the license for Common Rail, owned by the German giant). And it is the market of all cars on the "heavy" fuel Bosch brings the bulk of the money. Although in 2017, the company received a record operating profit (€5.3 billion), the current situation clearly demonstrates the impending recession.
