In 2018 in Russia appeared a new car brand — Aurus. For obvious reasons, he does not claim to popularity: one of its key products and does not become unique presidential limo, but even the "civilian" version of the brand new sedan will cost more than 10 million rubles. But ordinary motorists often discuss not only the elitism of the new machines, their visual similarity with Executive sedans of other brands or technical aspects but also another interesting aspect. Whether Aurus is possible to consider Russian development, if his creation was used extensively through foreign engineering firms?

In fact, there is an even more prosaic view: the development of a common modular platform (EMP) is only an attempt to throw dust in the eyes, and reality on the same sedan "Senate" used ready-made units known manufacturers. Supposedly the 4.4-liter V8 delivers BMW, and nine-storyed "automatic" ZF produces.

However, the failure of such arguments is easy to prove: despite the typical older BMW motors volume, in the motor of the "Aurus" is used a number of other layout solutions. In particular, the turbo was not installed in the collapse of the cylinder, and from the outside. With automatic transmission, things are even simpler: ZF simply not releasing "boxes" of this type. Yes, it has a 8HP eight-speed for longitudinal location of the engine and a nine-9HP for transverse, but not Vice versa.

Clarity in this situation decided to make the chief designer Aurus Vadim Pereverzev: in an interview with "statements" he said that the new car (actually a whole family) consists mainly of Russian components.

In particular, the "machine" developed by the Russian company "kata", wheels for the sedan delivers Krasnoyarsk K&K, fuel tanks and fuel pumps produces "Autocomponent". Also "the Senate" applies glasses Borskogo of a factory and domestic tyres and exhaust system.

We should also mention the electric filling. "Senate" is a hybrid, and an electric motor, battery and all the high-voltage system is produced in Russia.

With the engine situation is more complicated. In its elaboration participated experts Porsche Ingeneering. They worked according to specifications by US. Now the motor is already assembled in Russia, although some components are imported from abroad.

Vadim Pereverzev stressed several times that the localization work is not yet finished. In particular, this includes engine and all-wheel drive system developed jointly with Magna. Ultimately the challenge is to gradually localize in Russia the vast majority of components.
