the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) interested in the price of gasoline. However, if typically the Agency is in charge of proceedings in cases of price collusion, this time it acted in an unusual role for himself: the FAS has suggested the government to abandon the increase from 1 January 2019 the rates of excise duties on gasoline and diesel fuel, to avoid a rapid increase in retail prices. Details lights RBC.

the proposal was made by the head of Department of regulation of fuel and Energy complex of the Ministry Dmitry Makhonin. He believes that it would be logical to refuse from increase of excises: they are best left at the current level, so as not to aggravate the situation.

Also the representative of the FAS said that the wholesale price of fuel has increased as it became known yesterday, the cost in the wholesale segment jumped by 10 %. Among the key reasons for this phenomenon were noted autumn repairs (apparently, refineries) and lower sales on the exchange.

However, the Finance Ministry does not hurry to comment on the proposal of the FAS. Besides, the head of Department Anton Siluanov said that the jumps in the price of fuel in connection with the increase from January 1 of excises are planned. In other words, the excise taxes will still be raised.
