The unusual electric car runs in new technology
German automotive supplier Schaeffler has built a unique version of Audi RS3. This loaded hatchback and initially allocated a daunting temper: under its hood is hidden signature row "five" outstanding 367 HP and robotized transmission S tronic, quattro all-wheel drive, retuned suspension, powerful brakes and grippy tires make it a real high-speed car. But in this instance used the technique a completely different level.
In the body of the Audi RS3 was placed the stuffing from the car, "Formula-E". Each wheel now has a separate electric motor, which in combination with advanced electronics enable control of thrust vector at a level unavailable the petrol car.
Unique electric car has received the name Schaeffler 4ePerformance. Its total capacity is estimated at 1 1696 horsepower. Of the dynamic characteristics is known only acceleration from 0 to 200 km/h takes less than seven seconds. In other words, this electric pyatidverka very, very fast. In Schaeffler 4ePerformance has a battery capacity of 64 kWh.
According to the head of special projects in the field of Motorsport Schaeffler Simon Opel (Opel Simon), Schaeffler 4ePerformance became a kind of laboratory on wheels for testing of advanced solutions. "we are currently testing and developing our own system of dynamic control. We have learned a lot, especially in the field of software adaptation variable thrust vector," said Mr. Opel.
