One of the main newsmakers of the automotive world for a year remain Tesla Model 3. Just yesterday we talked about the fact that she recognized the most cost-effective electric vehicle in the world and now let's discuss another optimistic news: new set a new record range.

According to official data, the older version of the Tesla Model 3 can travel up to 500 kilometers. These data are confirmed by the Agency for environmental protection of the United States (Environmental Protection Agency, EPA), whose testing methodology close to real operating conditions. However, some enthusiasts are able to squeeze out of a standard battery pack is much larger. A few months ago, experts in the field of so-called hypermiling (from the English. hypermiling), that is, competition on the range drive per charge/fueling, were able to drive 975 miles. Now, however, Model 3 was able to cross a thousand.

Experiment on economical driving was organized by the German company nextmove, delivers electric vehicles to rent. To establish the next record was selected as a test site DEKRA. Because the car was driving outside of public roads, on practical terms to speak of laboratory conditions it will be impossible to replicate in reality.

Nevertheless, Tesla Model 3 drove 1 001 kilometer, and it is twice more than stated by the manufacturer. No less curious that the vehicle the whole trip was managed by the Autopilot system. Next to the car drove another Model 3, but with a deactivated drone mode. The driver managed to drive 978 miles, that is 23 kilometers and less. Given the fact that it was driven by a trained professional, this fact suggests that the Autopilot electronics are perfectly balanced and customized to achieve maximum possible mileage.

Tesla Model 3 was moving along the track at a speed of 36 km/h. Check in was very languid, as he lasted 28 hours. But the organizers managed to achieve extremely low energy consumption 7 kWh for every 100 kilometers.
