The NEV market growth continues in China is increasing

Sales of electric cars and hybrids (NEV) in China continue to grow quite rapidly. In June, the growth of this market amounted to 43% compared to last year to 84 thousand.

Sales of battery electric vehicles (BEV) in the past month rose by 30 percent and amounted to about 62 million, while the realization of rechargeable hybrids (PHEV) increased more than two times and amounted to 22 thousand, according to figures from the China Association of automobile manufacturers (CAAM).

For the first six months of 2018 in China sold about 412 thousand BEV and PHEV, which is 112 percent more than in the first half of 2017.

For the first half were sold 313 thousand 99 thousand BEV and PHEV, which grew by 96 percent and 182 percent, respectively.

Electric cars, PHEV and vehicle fuel cell (FCEV) receive government and municipal subsidies and other incentives (preferential registration, zero tax, free Parking, cheap electricity, etc., etc.).

The Chinese government plans by 2020 to abandon subsidies for electric cars and hybrids, to ease the burden on the budget.

To support the demand for vehicles on the electric drive, the government intends to introduce in 2019 the program of concessional lending to encourage carmakers operating in China, to increase production of such equipment.
