In July in Germany, the market volume of passenger PEV increased by 31% to 5617 units, while pure electric vehicles (BEV) grew faster (+39%) than a PHEV (+28%). From the beginning of 2018 BEV reached a 1% market share, and PHEV, respectively, also increased its share to 1%, bringing the total share of PEV on the German car market was 2%.

Diesel became a pariah in Germany and Western Europe
However, the most interesting intrigue in the German market today is the downward trend of sales of diesel cars, which showed a decline in July by 11%, resulting in diesel currently occupies only 32% of the German market against 38.7% in 2017 and historically the maximum share of 48.1% in 2012, matching the figures of the share of diesel in the early 2000s. Extrapolation of the rate of decline in sales of diesel cars allows you to name the date "collapse" of this segment of the automobile market around the winter of 2022/23 years. However, for the countries of Western Europe is not the strongest decrease. For example, in Norway the share of diesel cars fell from 75.7% in 2011 to 23.1% in 2017 and continues to decline no less rapidly, so to "zero" this segment of the local market can get for winter 2021/22 years, i.e. about a year before the German. It should be noted that, in General, for Western Europe the market for diesel passenger cars decreased from a maximum value to 55.7% in 2011 to 44.4% in 2017, falling particularly hard in the last two years.

This may mean that the brand Porsche finally solved the problem with the capacity of batteries and creates a very promising preconditions for entering the market all-electric crossover Taycan BEV.

Sooner or later the problem of the battery's capacity needed to be resolved, because without that success Taycan is very questionable. Subject to the decision of the battery of the Porsche, would be worth to just think about the "electrotechno", unless of course they want to avoid the "black hole of demand" in the style of Tesla...

Tesla in Germany will devour itself?
Brand Tesla showed in July no good, as its flagship Model S electric car revealed in this month the lowest score (-50% to 51 units.) since January. This means that the budget Model 3 (probably the main competitor Porsche Taycan BEV) already begins to cast its "ominous shadow" on the German market. It is characteristic that electrocreaser Model X July also fell 43% to 44 units, which is saying a lot...

The Electric Tesla Model S

Germany has always been unfavorable market for promotion too chic American brand Tesla that mirror is similar to the situation with compact electric car BMW i3 in the US market, where it is believed that: "a Small luxury car?! And this actually exists in nature?".

However, the moment of truth is coming, because electric cars German brands closer and closer to mass production, so it will be interesting to see the impact they will have as the full-size Model S and especially in the sale of electrocreaser Model X.

You can easily predict that the Model S will experience the greatest pressure, because in addition to competition from its German counterparts, it will have to withstand and the effect of "internal cannibalism" by the more compact and cheaper sibling Model 3.
