Hobby electromuse characteristic of not only mosque, Sankt-PeterburgmegapolisChina, but also evropeiskimSTOLICA. So, the largest public transport operator in the Nordic countries – transport company Nobina Sweden and the automotive company Scania AB, has announced that from next year begin testing Autonomous (i.e., unmanned) electric buses on regular urban routes in the capital of the Kingdom of Sweden.
Head of the division of city buses and intercity liners (coaches) Scania AB Karin Radstrom said: "the Technology is now developed enough to begin testing Autonomous vehicles in the real bus transportation on public roads, making this project with the buses (buses) that size of pioneer in Europe. The project will provide extensive information on the development of large Autonomous electric buses and will help their full implementation".
The tests will be carried out in two stages, first without passengers, and then welcoming the passengers on Board. Since safety is the main priority for all these test machines will be the operator (driver) who will monitor the implementation of the transport process and to help passengers.
Managing Director Nobina Sweden Henrik Dagnes said: "We are in Nobina is actively involved in the creation of what, in our opinion, will be an important part of the future of public transport. These tests will give a deep understanding of the daily aspects of management and operation of Autonomous electric buses and will allow you to take advantage of this newest form of public transport to a large enough number of people. Requirements for independent buses do not differ from requirements for other modes of transport, including aspects of reliability, safety and availability".
Electric buses Scania Citywide LF (electrical equipment ABB) is quite well established in urban transport in Sweden
Two buses Scania sufficiently well-tested model Citywide LF will connect the fast-paced new residential area Barkarby located 14.5 miles from the center of Stockholm with nearby metro station Ulsta. Autonomous electric buses will go on a new, especially organized 5-kilometer route with four stops. Initially it is planned that they will pass offline only about one kilometer. It is expected that during the second test phase, this service will be used by about 300 passengers. Motion and control of Autonomous electric buses will be jointly administered by Scania and Nobina.
Now it's time to take another step and add the buses unmanned technology, however, the driver behind the wheel is saved for security
The project is already being developed technologically, and the test period is scheduled to begin in 2020. During the tests, data will be collected, for example, average speed, uptime, adherence to schedule, data collection on failures and problems, as well as the degree of satisfaction of passengers.
By the way, Barkarby, which was named municipal district with the world's most advanced urban transport system, thanks to the cooperation of the local municipality of Jarfalla with the company Nobina has already implemented several innovative projects in public transport, e.g. Bus Rapid Transit infrastructure and vehicles with new digital solutions, are now added and the first in Europe draft manual for regular bus transportation Autonomous electric buses..
