Unmanned shuttles that cater for both passengers and transport of goods takes pride of place as the show-stoppers at all the motor shows and exhibitions of technological modernity. There is no doubt that soon enough they will go and on conventional streets, not only in closed areas as it is today. Convinced that the famous German company Robert Bosch GmbH wants to present a prototype with their own package of solutions for a new kind of mobility, referred to it as a "Shuttle" (shuttle mobility), on the increasingly trendy electronics show CIS, which opens January 8 in Las Vegas.
To approve the consulting firm Roland Berger, cited Bosch, by 2020 the roads of Europe, the USA and China would go about a million of these shuttles, and in 2025 their number will reach 2.5 million
Ideal Bosch consists in the introduction of intelligent seamless ecosystem with a full range of mobile services.
In the prototype Bosch replaced four passengers facing each other to increase the area for the legs and, obviously, facilitate mutual communication. Each passenger is intended personal touch screen, and built-in Wi-Fi and even 360-degree sensors surround.
Accordingly, the Shuttle turns into a sort of personal assistant providing a variety of information.
Use the Shuttle begins with the order through the app on your smartphone. First the program searches for the nearest Shuttle, and other users who are "in the same direction" – direct interest here, because the more passengers, the cheaper the trip. Upon arrival of the Shuttle customers identificeret itself in the transport system through the same "portal" in your smartphone (function Bosch Keyless Perfectly). Door part just before customers travel, they can easily occupy the reserved seats. Payment, of course, is in electronic form.
Bosch develops and manufactures its own radar, ultrasonic sensors and a variety of management system that allows it to guarantee the positioning of the Shuttle with an accuracy of "several centimetres". Smart autopilot is able to adapt the "driving style" for changing road conditions, ensuring absolute safety on the route. After the trip, the Shuttle automatically checks the salon. The message of forgotten things immediately sent to the smartphone owner. In addition, the internal camera is able to see, for example, glued to the seat of gum or an empty Cup of coffee, and the computer system determines the Shuttle – does the salon to clean, and makes the appropriate order.
The technical condition of the Shuttle is controlled by a separate service, including battery condition. The program knows exactly the place and time of recharging, and taking into account traffic and even weather conditions. On-Board diagnostics updates the software online, which virtually eliminates failures.
Actually Bosch to date has not offered a particularly futuristic solutions, as, in his opinion, it is time to give the market for complete solutions. The developers at Bosch say: "In the future every vehicle on the road will use digital services." Such a statement from a company that equips their ABS and other electronics, more than half of the world fleet is already a sign that "the future begins today"..
