Nobody needs to prove that the two pedal drive car more comfortable trehpedalnyh, i.e. "automatic" or "CVT" instead of a manual transmission, in terms of ease of driving (especially in the big cities with their many hours of traffic jams) is much more preferable.
AVTOVAZ now tries to take into account the needs of potential clients and strives to provide them the maximum pleasure from driving, which resulted in the production of models LADA c continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The continuously variable transmission specially developed for passenger car and crossover segment, has received the changed settings, taking into account peculiarities of the Russian operation. Similar variators production company Jatco has proved its reliability and few years used on some models of the Alliance Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi and, in particular, on models of the brand Renault B0 platform –Kaptur, Logan City Logan Stepway and Sandero Stepway City.

The main feature of this unit is that here the design is additionally used a two-step gear sector (small hydraulic box with torque Converter, installed in front of the V-belt variator). This decision made it possible to perform transmission more compact and lightweight by 13%. Transmissions designed to increase the efficiency and the torque Converter needs to neutralize the inherent flaws of the variator on the road, especially manifested in the assault of the slopes, i.e. the fear of low temperatures and, conversely, to overheat. In the transmission models LADA is stored as a range of gear ratios from 3,873 to 0,532, and the main steam – 3,882:1. If necessary, this type of transmission allows you to simulate manual gearshifts, which is very useful when overtaking, driving uphill, towing a trailer, and engine braking, and at the same time improves acoustic comfort in the cabin.

New transmission XRAY Cross is only installed in combination with the motor Renault H4M (he's a Nissan HR16) 1.6-liter produced at the WHA in Togliatti. Interestingly, this motor has been inscribed in the gamma model XRAY initially, but in 2016, was expelled from it, and finally appeared again. However, its specification has changed – capacity increased from 110 to 113 HP, and MM – from 150 to 152 N•m while maintaining the same rpm of the crankshaft. It is important that the installation of the variator did not affect the increase in curb weight of the car with manual gearbox and a record for LADA ground clearance of 215 mm.
