Unexpected news came from Moscow motor show: Renault is going to stop the sales of Logan and Sandero! It's hard to believe, because they are the main range of the company in Russia. For 2017, the manufacturer has sold 30 thousand units of cars of each model.

Big news in an interview with Automotive News Europe announced the chief designer of Renault Laurens van den Acker's (Laurens van den Acker). He stated that his main goal is the creation of a single global model range Renault.

Currently a Renault in emerging markets, are copies of models by Dacia with other logos. It happened including the Logan and Sandero, which are produced initially under the Romanian brand Dacia.

The motivation of the company is clear: Renault has long been a hostage of the system that you built. If a half decade ago the market boom brought about by the budget Dacia seemed the perfect strategy, to the current time, the company completely disappointed in this business model.

The catch is that in many markets, especially in Russia, the Renault brand has become associated exclusively with a similar budget machines. Because of this, the company can not simply sell the more expensive "real" European model Renault: people simply refuse to pay more for "budget" Renault.

Until further action of the French company are not disclosed until the end. As stated Laurens van den Acker, Duster in the foreseeable future will remain the exception to the rule: it will continue to sell in developing markets under the Renault brand, although it is also Dacia.

What will happen with the most popular models Logan and Sandero? Most likely, they will be gradually withdrawn from the market. In their place will come new cars, also built on the budget B0 platform, but with different looks and filling. They won't be clones of Dacia. It is expected that such machines will be more expensive than "Logan" and "Sandero" the current generation. Most likely, they will compete directly with Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio.

But if you in the foreseeable future had intended to buy Logan and Sandero, you should not run headlong to the dealer or to abandon the plans. The French company has just brought to our market Logan Stepway. This means that in the near future, the manufacturer does not intend to radically reshape the model line.
