Possible pose a danger of airbags

Recently in the Russian market was not seen large-scale surveys campaigns, and concerns are often petty. But this time it's serious: Nissan announces a possible malfunction of 234 thousand vehicles. And the reason leaves no joking matter: talking about the risk of incorrect operation of driver's airbag.

First, the Russian representation of the company ("Nissan manufacturing RUS") announced the recall 127 738 car Note and Tiida, sold from August 2008 to August 2014. The owners of the respective models can check VIN code of your car with database "Rosstandart".

Immediately after that, the Japanese brand has announced another test 106 340 car, but other models: Almera, Teana, Pickup, Tino, Patrol, Terrano II and X-Trail. Subject to recall cars manufactured from 19 February 2001 to 28 November 2012. The owners of the respective cars are also encouraged to look for coincidences from VIN-kodami defective car. A curious fact: that Tino and Nissan Terrano II generally never officially sold in Russia.

In General, this review scares not only the magnitude but also the possible consequences. In this case we are talking about defective Takata airbags. The last few years the automotive industry has been simmering scandals associated with this Japanese company: it has for many years supplied on conveyors leading manufacturers of defective products. And top managers of "Takata" had long known about the risks and possible consequences for motorists.

Decades Takata sold the airbags, which used ammonium nitrate. It cost the manufacturer cheaper than the higher quality counterparts. But it was soon discovered and cons of the effects of time, humidity and high temperature, these pillows could spontaneously explode, scaring not just in people, but sometimes causing injury.

The first fatality was recorded in 2009 in the United States. In total by the present moment it is known about 17 the victims, but in reality there may be more.

The worst thing is that Takata in direct and figurative sense profited from the safety of the motorists. In the summer of 2017, the company filed for bankruptcy: it has failed to fulfill its obligations to its customers, among them was Nissan.
