GM sold the entire stake in the JV GM Uzbekistan of the state Corporation "Uzavtosanoat"

According to the newspaper Newspaper.uz – Uzbek state company "Uzavtosanoat" to buy out General Motors ' all the remaining shares of the joint venture GM Uzbekistan. It produces cars brands Chevrolet (for local market) and Ravon (for export). Actually the full redemption shareholding was only the end of the process, which in may was initiated by the Uzbek government, when it decided to increase the national stake in the JV from 75% to 90%. Now, the us "graciously" got rid of the remaining shares of GM Uzbekistan, so now the exclusive owner of the enterprise remained "Uzavtosanoat". So after UzDaewoo brand (just replaced in 2015 new brand Ravon) into oblivion soon may be followed by the name of GM Uzbekistan. A similar process will be in respect of the shares of the motor plant, GM Powertrain Uzbekistan.

But Americans are not going to go away from Uzbekistan, where there are (in the form of know-how) for almost a quarter of a century. According to the Newspaper.uz at the end of October to the former partners failed to agree on a new form of cooperation, established the "Alliance to GM Uzbekistan". In the framework of "Uzavtosanoat" will continue as the production of cars brands Chevrolet and Ravon and start working with other automakers.

It is hoped that the new leadership of the company will be able to restrain their ambitions of monopoly and to maintain reasonable prices for consumers on the mass model, both domestically and in export markets, otherwise the fate of the enterprise can become sad.
