Chevrolet Niva extended "the mandate" until the end of 2021

Until recently, remained under question the continuation of the production of the SUV Chevrolet Niva (VAZ-21236) to the world known as "led". The fact that the joint venture GM-AVTOVAZ until recently pulled with the extension of the validity period of the certificate "Approval of a vehicle type" (cu Tr a) its the only model of Chevrolet Niva. This saw a management decision GM to come with the release of the less popular models. So, analysts of the Russian car market seriously considered the possibility because the project is the creation of the model NIVA-2 was completely frozen, as both GM and AVTOVAZ has lost interest (residents chose to develop its own line of SUVs of the series "4х4").
However, the fears proved to be premature: in the outdoor base of Rosstandart, finally, a new certificate of transport vehicle type approval, which will replace the old, valid until 20 December this year. Accordingly, a new transport vehicle type approval will be valid from 21 Dec 2018 20 Dec 2021.
Interestingly, the extension of the validity period due to the addition of the certificate of transport vehicle type approval several changes to the equipment of the vehicle. In the current November "led" is already barely clung to a Top 20 2365 units (-12,3% over the same period of 2017, when it occupied 16-e a place).
However, even obtaining a new transport vehicle type approval does not mean that the model can keep on the JV all three years – all will depend on the demand and goodwill of the management of AVTOVAZ.
