In September, according to the automobile manufacturers Committee of the AEB, the sales of new cars and light commercial (LCV) cars in Russia decreased by only 242 units or 0.2 percentage points compared to the same month in 2018, amounting to 157 129 units.
Chairman of the AEB automobile manufacturers Committee Joerg Schreiber thoroughly enough comments on the results of the first autumn month and the first 9 months of this year: "Sales of September were at the level of the same month last year, which is a good result, taking into account the negative trend of recent months. Cumulative sales for the period from January to September year-on year – minus 2%. Taking into account the remaining 3 months of this year, the AEB expects the annual result of 1.76 million, which projects the same slightly negative trend at the end of the year. There is an element of uncertainty – the possibility of another substantial increase in recycling collection in the year 2020, that, according to information discussed in the government. If this decision is made in fact, it will raise the question of the long-term Russian automotive market as a whole. However, short-term sales of imported cars can obtain artificial acceleration, of course, at the expense of sales in the following period."

In January-September sales of new cars decreased more significantly – by 2 percentage points (-26 040 units) to 1 271 392 units.

The leader among brands in September, is the domestic LADA, whose growth, however, slowed to 1% (31 516 units), since the potential of consumer growth through government programs for concessional lending almost exhausted, and for three quarters it amounted to 2% (265 200 units). Silver KIA stores, which showed a 1% increase to 19 194 units, and for 9 months she has a minimal increase of 0.4% (168 141 units). "Bronze" Hyundai holds a tiny downside in September (-0,3% to 16 050 units), plus 9 months (+0.4% to 131 987 units).

The highest growth in the Top 10 for September showed GAS with their LCV (+33% to 6030 units) and Renault (+28% to 13 326 units), and for three quarters – BMW (+16% to 30 236 units), however in September not even ranked in the top ten.
The worst result in the Top 10 for September Toyota (-16% to 9403 units) and year – to-date also Nissan's (-16% to 48 674 units). The group's share of AVTOVAZ-Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi in the market increased in September to 37.1% (58 362 units) against 35.7 per cent from a year earlier, or 1.4 p. p.

In the ranking of the models leader in September and for 9 months of the year remains a series of restyled LADA Granta with 11 208 units (+12.8 percent) and 96 of 974 units (+38.2 per cent), respectively. Second place in both rankings also have LADA Vesta with 9452 units (+4.4%) and 83 502 units (+9.6 per cent). Closes the Top-3 of September and the beginning of the year – KIA Rio with 7758 units (-1,8%) and 69 349 units (-7,6%). At the 4th place crossover Hyundai Creta (best SUV) 6408 units (+9.1 percent) in September and 51 969 units (+4.6 percent) since the beginning of the year. Top 5 closes the Hyundai Solaris with 5402 units (-14,2%) in September and 45 of 284 units (-10%) for the first three quarters.

PS so, the new initiatives from the top (increase of the recycling collection, which is a actually a tax on imports) can, if not raise, then at least to maintain sales this year, but in the next to get him a new considerable decline.
