Russian and Uzbek manufacturers have agreed to assemble cars in Russia

The company GM Uzbekistan resumes in the current year deliveries to Russia of its passenger cars brand Ravon, but... Russian Assembly. The company agreed c notorious plant Derways Motors about their Assembly in Cherkessk. The first test batch of cars is expected by mid-summer, and with the end of the year burdet launched a full-fledged mass production.
I must say that 2018 was for both companies, GM Uzbekistan and Derways Motors very difficult, so they actually had to survive a systemic crisis, but in the end the Uzbek carmaker GM Uzbekistan became independent from the American company General Motors, and now part of the national holding company "Uzavtosanoat". Sales of cars under the Chevrolet brand was relaunched in the local market, in addition, the party machines under the brand Ravon Kazakhstan Assembly plant "Saryarkaavtoprom" was exported to Belarus.
At Derways Motors have a story – so in October 2018 was scaled back production of cars at both sites plant in Cherkessk and in Stavropol. Prolonged inspection of a company by the investigative Committee led to the resignation of former Chinese partner Chery, Lifan, Hawtai and Brilliance (NTM). According to "Izvestia" signed an agreement on semi-knocked down (SKD) Assembly Ravon on the capacity of Derways. Plants Derways Motors included in the state program of industrial Assembly, which gives the opportunity GM Uzbekistan to import free of duty the kits and thus to obtain from the Russian government compensation for the recycling fee. Accordingly, and showrooms of Russian dealers of the brand Ravon get back closer to 2020. In the shorter term vehicles Ravon can return to the Russian market both Uzbek and Kazakh Assembly. However, the success of return Ravon in Russia depends primarily on the reasonableness of the price policy management of the company.

Lineup from Ravon is relatively outdated: Ravon R3 Nexia (Chevrolet Aveo) and Ravon R4 (Chevrolet Cobalt), which in any case have to compete with models such as the LADA Granta, and threaten to such a fresh bestsellers as Lada Vesta, KIA Rio and Hyundai Solaris with them is unlikely.
