At the annual press conference of Volkswagen Group, held today in Geneva, the German company reported on the results for 2018, and most importantly, announced that is configured to fundamental changes in the future direction of development of electric vehicles and personal mobility in General. Thus, the sensation we have heard about plans to run for the next 10 years – 70 new models of electric vehicles, although more recently it was announced only about fifty models. As a result, the projected number of electric vehicles that will be built in the electric platforms of the Group in the next decade increased from 15 million to 22 million. The expansion of the production of electric vehicles will be an important step on the road to zero emissions of CO2, ie, etc- called "decarbonization". So, Volkswagen signed a comprehensive program of decarbonization, aimed at achieving by 2050 a fully neutral CO2 balance, in all areas from corporate fleet to production and administrative buildings. Thus, Volkswagen has adhered to the Paris climate agreement (as the proverb says scalded milk, water blow – ed.). By the way, according to Der Spiegel the "Big German Troika", i.e. the companies Volkswagen, Daimler and BMW are threatening to put the penalty in the amount of up to €1 billion each over a possible conspiracy in the field of technologies related to control of exhaust gas.

CEO of Volkswagen AG Dr. Herbert Diess said: "Volkswagen takes on responsibility in relation to the key trends of the future, especially in connection with climate protection. The goal of the Paris agreement is our criterion of truth. We will systematically coordinate the production and other stages in the value chain, profit neutrality of the turnover of CO2 in the coming years. This is how we must contribute to limiting global warming. Volkswagen strives to ensure individual mobility for millions of people for years to come –individual mobility, which will be more safe, clean and fully connected (to energy and information networks – ed.). To make the capital investments necessary for the onset of the electrical age, we must further improve the efficiency and productivity in all areas."

According to him, it will turn each of belonging to the group of brands a reduction of staff by 30%.
The Volkswagen group has set itself a roadmap in all areas that need to be achieved in the coming years, as well as towards full decarbonization by 2050. These measures are based on three principles: first, effective and sustainable CO2 reduction. Second, the transition to renewable sources of energy for electricity. Thirdly, compensation for residual emissions that cannot be avoided. For example, to improve the CO2 balance in the car throughout their life cycle, Volkswagen has already begun its work with suppliers. The detailed road map currently being developed. There is a particularly significant potential in the supply of steel and aluminum.
Goal 2025 is declared the reduction of CO2 emissions of the car fleet by 30% during the whole life cycle of a car compared to the 2015. Therefore, Volkswagen will electrify your corporate fleet, and by 2023, investment in this area will amount to more than €30 billion By 2030, the number of electric vehicles in a corporate Park Group will increase at least to 40%. In 2019, will begin production of the first electric vehicles of the new generation for the AUDI e-tron will be followed by Porsche Taycan. Pre-orders for each of these models has already reached 20 000 units of Electric cars will go into mass production with the increase of the output unit of Volkswagen ID. Other models in this first wave will also be a landmark ID. CROZZ, SEAT el-Born, ŠKODA Vision E, ID. BUZZ, and ID. VIZZION.

To support electric evolution as strategic suppliers of batteries were selected LG Chem, SKI, CATL and Samsung. In view of the growing demand, Volkswagen is also carefully considers his possible involvement in the production of batteries in Europe. Looking to the more distant future, also have the largest capacity solid-state battery. The aim was to ensure the industrial level of production of this technology together with our partner QuantumScape.
At the same time, CO2 emissions at all power plants should be reduced by 50% by 2025 compared to 2010. Translation of plant in Wolfsburg from coal to gas will reduce CO2 emissions by 1.5 million tons annually starting in 2023. For example, the production activity at the Audi factory in Brussels is already fully decarbonisation. Plant in Zwickau is not only a leading plant manufacture modular platform with electric (MEB); the model ID. made there are delivered to customers with a neutral CO2 balance.
The basis of the electrical occurrence is based on the platform Volkswagen MEB. The group expects that its partners also will take advantage of it, which will greatly reduce its cost through economies of scale. This will make electric vehicles available for public use in the future. One example of such partnership will be planned in cooperation with the Aachen-based firm, e.GO Mobile AG, recently announced at the Geneva international motor show.
To further increase mobility, by 2020, VW will install 400 fast charging stations along major roads and motorways of Europe in cooperation with industry partners in the network IONITY. The first hundred of them will be located in Germany. This means that every 120 miles of roads will be located charging station. A new subsidiary of the Volkswagen Elli (Electric Life), will also offer a wall-mounted batteries for home use, using them for green energy – initially only in Germany. In addition, Parking for the VW employees at all plants will be 3500 battery charging devices, and additional devices at dealerships. In addition, Volkswagen will build a plant for deep processing of lithium-ion batteries. Volkswagen engineers are currently working on the concept of disposal of spent lithium-ion batteries. The plant in Salzgitter, starting in 2020, will be recycled used automotive batteries at about 1200 tons per year, equivalent to about 3000 sets.

The Volkswagen group retained at the end of 2018, the status of the world's largest car manufacturer for the third year in a row. If the Japanese Toyota Motor sold worldwide in 2018 10.6 million vehicles (+2%), but even before the Volkswagen Group, including a dozen brands, announced that its global sales increased by 0.9% and set a new record – 10.83 million
For 2019 Volkswagen Group has officially confirmed the release of two coupe-crossover – the Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q3, and also has not yet named a model is likely to compact crossover. There will also be a planned change of generations Bentley Flying Spur sedan, the Volkswagen Bora and the Volkswagen Lavida will be released electric  for the Chinese market.
