Sensation of the day was the message that Daimler AG (the other day, just claiming to stop production of micro cars Smart after 2020 due to their loss) sold 50% of its Smart brand to Chinese automaker Geely. In turn, the Chinese automaker intends to move production of minicars in China.

The micro cars Smart EQ Smart EQ forfour and fortwo will be produced before 2022

the Germans and the Chinese have mapped out a future role in a joint venture to produce Smart. So, the share of Daimler will remain the development of new models of Smart, well Geely will be responsible for their production at the new plant, which is only yet to be built in China. The production line of electric vehicles Smart will remain the head of the French company.
Production at its new Chinese plant will start in 2022, and the model range Smart from this point on will be exclusively electric.
