This week, Bentley Motors has been certified by the neutrality of carbon emissions (eg Carbon Trust) his business headquarters in Crewe (Cheshire, England), thus making yet another important step on the way to becoming the most innovative and reliable manufacturer of luxury cars in the world.

The Carbon Trust certificate confirms that the company meets globally recognized standard PAS 2060 for carbon neutrality and reflects the measures taken by the manufacturer to reduce carbon emissions in its activities, including the use of electricity from renewable sources. So, 100% of the electricity for the plant and the headquarters of Bentley Motor (photo screensaver) is produced by either solar panels directly at the place of production, or purchased as a certified environmentally friendly electricity. All other carbon emissions that cannot be eliminated, kompensiruet by buying high quality carbon credits the Gold Standard.
At the beginning of this year at the headquarters of Bentley in Crewe was installed the UK's largest set of solar panels, consisting of 10 000 solar panels. The installation has an installed capacity of 2.7 MW and occupies an area of 16 426 m2, which is equal to the square 1378 Parking spaces. In addition to the already established 20 815 panels on the roof of the plant, the total installed capacity of solar was 7.7 MW, enough to meet the needs in electric power 1,750 homes.

This achievement reflects the work the company has done for almost two decades, intended to make such a historic place like Crewe the most effective from the point of view of energy production and carbon emissions. Although some parts of this strategy have existed since the 1940-ies only in 1999, Bentley became the first automotive manufacturer in the UK who has reached the standard for environmental management ISO 14001 and was looking at upgrading technology as a continuous process to maximize efficiency and continue to reduce emissions.
To obtain a certificate in PAS 2060 were also acquired carbon credits, the Gold Standard, intended to compensate for emissions occurring in the production process. The quantity and quality of these loans has been independently verified Carbon Trust, the world's leading independent certification of carbon emissions.
