The company Shaanxi Automobile Group was founded in 1968 and has long remained the main supplier of vehicles for the armed forces of the country. The company then began the development of a line of civilian models and gradually became one of the leading national manufacturers of heavy trucks. In 2004 it signed a cooperation agreement with the German company MAN, thanks to which in China, a production car of the family MAN F2000. In the course of this project in 2005 was built advanced automobile plant, designed for an annual production of 50 thousand 20 thousand heavy and medium-duty trucks, 1.5 thousand bus chassis. At the same time started the production of axles. In addition, a few years ago in the structure of the company engine plant (Cummins manufactures diesel engines) and a plant for the production of special equipment. In 2013, the company Shaanxi Automobile Group has made 68,2 thousand of heavy trucks (+25,4%), 32.5 thousand trucks (+50.3%) and only 1,27 thousand small and srednetonnazhnye (-30,4%), 345 units of buses of all classes (million-35.8%). The class of HCV is (especially the dynamics of annual growth) pretty good performance, but still almost twice lower than planned, by 2015 the volume of production – 200 thousand vehicles per year. The Corporation includes 22 subsidiaries, exporting its products to more than 30 countries of Africa, CIS, Asia, Europe and Latin America.

On the Russian market manufacturer Shaanxi Automobile Group Co., Ltd. the only official sales representative – LLC Trading house "coal", offering Shacman brand only in two subfamilies – with the earlier cab MAN F2000 and F3000 restyled, and the cars in both series in 2013 only used engines of the ecological class Euro-4. In 2013, Russia officially delivered 3621 units (-47,5%) heavy truck production in Shaanxi (including model SX325 – 2134 units), and was only 1655 new cars, which influenced the introduction of the recycling fee, but the official importer managed to block the "black" and "gray" import of machinery through Kazakhstan (2.8 thousand in 2012).
